Short Biography

​

Zeke Meyer is an extremely energetic guitarist-for-hire. Zeke is studying music at Belmont University, and building a strong network throughout a variety of genres. He has performed funk, jazz, rock, and pop in live settings as well as studio sessions. Zeke Meyer was called “an incredibly hard-working professional” by Mike Windish after finishing rehearsals for a three month run of over 200 shows at Kings Island. Being passionate and driven, alongside a love for his instrument, has always helped lead Zeke to success.​

Long Biography

​

Throughout high school, Zeke Meyer trained and studied with many jazz professionals. Under the likes of Jim Leslie, Jimmy Leach, James Smith, and Bill Burns, Zeke was given invaluable one-on-one teaching as well as experience in the Cincinnati jazz scene. Zeke performed in a plethora of ensembles led by these professionals, including several provided through high school. Zeke also played in five pit orchestras throughout high school, becoming increasingly versatile as a player as time went on.

At Belmont University as a freshman, Zeke Meyer began exploring the music scene in Nashville. He made several connections with other students as well as venue owners and managers. He played in the school’s Jazz Ensemble II and attended several jam sessions with fellow Belmont students. Throughout the quarantine, Zeke focused on studying and practicing, learning everything he could from his professors while the live music scene was recovering.

During his sophomore year, Zeke Meyer began to expand his network as venues continued to recover. He began playing recitals with other students, totaling two junior recitals and two senior recitals. Zeke began regularly attending Rudy’s Jazz Jam in addition to seeing dozens of performances all over Nashville. During the summer afterwards, Zeke was employed as a guitarist in a show band at Kings Island, playing over 200 shows in three months. Mike Windish described Zeke as “an incredibly hard-working professional.”

During Zeke’s junior year at Belmont University, he began to exercise his network and perform in more opportunities. Zeke formed a funk band with Zoey Pollard (Zoey & the Delivery Boys) and produced several demos while songwriting for the band. Zeke performed as a sideman for Dominic Rodeo Jess Siracusa. Zeke recorded with the band Bits of Goodness and was hired to play in the pit orchestra for three different productions at Vanderbilt University. Zeke played 5 recitals throughout the semester. During the following summer, he played 250 shows with a show band at Dorney Park in Allentown PA. In Zeke’s final year at Belmont, he is looking forward to expanding his network and playing as many gigs as possible!
